Exfoliant: When using an AHA exfoliant for the first time, introduce it into your routine slowly. Start by using your exfoliant once every other day, and then increase usage to once or twice daily based on your skin’s response.Apply once or twice daily after cleansing and toning. Apply a coin-sized amount over the entire face, including the eye area (avoid the lower lash line and eyelids). Do not rinse.
Serum: Apply the 25% Vitamin C + Glutathione Clinical serum onto face and neck. For optimal results, use AM and PM. For daytime, always follow with a broad spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 30 or greater.

Using both the SKIN PERFECTING 6% Mandelic Acid + 2% Lactic Acid Liquid Exfoliant and a Paula’s Choice BHA (beta hydroxy acid) in your routine can target skin concerns like sun damage, deep wrinkles, clogged pores, bumps and dull, flaky skin even faster. Many prefer alternating these exfoliants to address their specific needs, but everyone’s skin is different. It’s formulated with antioxidants and soothing ingredients which is even suitable for those with symptoms of rosacea such as redness, sensitivity and skin that feels dry, tight or uncomfortable. We recommend starting slowly, monitoring your skin and adjusting accordingly. During the day, always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 30 or greater.
25% Vitamin C + Glutathione Clinical Serum is formulated with a highly stable blend of oil-and-water soluble vitamin C for optimal effectiveness. Glutathione + GAP technology (glutathione amino acid precursors) work to minimise irritation while amping up antioxidant protection and ingredient stability. This advanced formula helps sustain a natural level of glutathione & vitamin C within the skin’s uppermost layers for extended results, while also reducing oxidative stress that triggers discolouration.
While there is research that supports it’s okay to keep water-based ascorbic acid (pure vitamin C) in the refrigerator to help prolong stability and delay in colour change, it’s important to note that this only applies to ascorbic acid in water. This does not apply to other ingredients or forms of vitamin C or when ascorbic acid is present without water. The only vitamin C product in the Paula’s Choice collection that we say is okay to store in the refrigerator is our C15 Super Booster, but even then, such storage is optional; room temperature is ideal. For other products, long-term exposure to cold temperatures can shorten the product’s lifespan, negatively impact stability and affect performance. The 25% Vitamin C + Glutathione Clinical Serum was deemed best stored at room temperature which is typically 20-22 C. Refrigerating it to preserve the incidental amount of ascorbic acid would have a net negative effect on many of the other ingredients not meant for long-term cold storage. Note: The PAO (period after opening) for the 25% Vitamin C + Glutathione Clinical Serum is 12 months. This may vary from person to person due to the amount of vitamin C in the formula which may prove too potent. We suggest patch testing this product on a small area to see how your skin responds. Vitamin C's soothing action on the skin can be helpful for rosacea, as can the anti-redness benefits of glutathione and ergothioneine. Besides, unlike water-based ascorbic acid formulas, this serum has a higher pH of 5.5-6.0 , which decrease the risk of irritation. If you've experienced sensitisation to higher amounts of vitamin C, we recommend you consider our C5 Super Booster Moisturiser , which contains 5% vitamin C.
The 25% Vitamin C + Glutathione Clinical Serum can be applied up to twice per day, in your AM and PM routine. How often to apply will vary based on your concerns and tolerance. If new to using vitamin C or higher concentrations of the ingredient, start slow (2-3 times per week), see how your skin responds, and then work up to increasing to daily use.
